Haryana shuffles top administrative talent: 9 IAS officers transferred

In a recent administrative reshuffle, the Haryana government made significant changes to the roles of nine IAS (Indian Administrative Service) officers. The reshuffle comes in response to government orders and aims to streamline various departments in the state. Here are the key developments from this reshuffle:

TVSN Prasad takes dual responsibilities:

TVSN Prasad, who currently serves as the additional chief secretary (ACS) for the home department, has been entrusted with an additional responsibility. He will now also hold the post of ACS for revenue. This additional charge became vacant after the retirement of Rajesh Khullar, a fellow officer from the same batch.

Sudhir Rajpal's role changes:

Sudhir Rajpal, who was initially appointed as ACS for agriculture and farmers' welfare, saw a change in his role. He is now assigned the position of ACS for school education, cooperation, youth empowerment, and entrepreneurship. Interestingly, Rajpal was initially posted as ACS for the home department but had his orders revised later in the day.

Additional charges for other officers:

- Sumita Misra, the ACS for medical education and research, was handed an additional responsibility as ACS for food, civil supplies, and consumer affairs.
- Raja Sekhar Vundru, who serves as ACS for housing for all, now also takes charge as ACS for civil aviation.
- V Umashankar, the principal secretary to the chief minister, was given an additional role as the principal secretary for information, public relations, and foreign cooperation.

Vijayendra Kumar's new role:

- Vijayendra Kumar, who previously held the position of principal secretary for social justice, empowerment, welfare of scheduled castes, backward classes, and Antyodaya (SEWA), has been posted as the principal secretary for agriculture and farmers' welfare, Sainik, and Ardh Sainik Welfare. Additionally, the administrative secretary of SEWA will now be in charge of irrigation.

Rajiv Ranjan's appointment:

- Rajiv Ranjan, who was awaiting posting orders, has been designated as the principal secretary for labor.
- Amneet P Kumar, the commissioner and secretary for Sainik and Ardh Sainik Welfare, is now appointed as the commissioner and secretary for the women and child development department.
